Gloriae Dei Cantores just completed recording a number of Renaissance Advent-themed motets and a mass, all to be joined later with similar pieces for the season of Epiphany. It was an intense period of study and one that the choir looks forward to applying to their upcoming service music. Particularly of interest was to delve into each composers way of storytelling, whether with different textures, sudden harmonic shifts, development of motives, and beauty of melody. The ensemble also worked diligently to hone vowel definitions, tuning, and ensemble clarity. It was an enriching experience for all of us and we look forward to sharing the recording with you all in the future!
