The two Gloriæ Dei Cantores concerts in Florence, Italy, in early November of 2015 – in the context of a national meeting involving all the bishops of Italy and including a visit from Pope Francis – were a spiritual high point of the week-long event. The selection of pieces by various composers from the 16th through the 20th centuries, all focused on the choral interpretation of Scripture, was perfectly attuned to the theme of the meeting, “A new Humanism in Jesus Christ”, and the technically superb and moving performance struck everyone present as a genuine and convincing expression of faith enlightening art.

“Recently I had the immense pleasure to make a big tour in America with Gloriae Dei Cantores chorus and the Munich Symphony Orchestra. Mozart Requiem was the highlight of the program. It was a magnificent experience. The chorus was exceptional and marvelously well prepared with an exemplary style. What a joy !
Only one word to describe it : MAGIC !”
The important thing about this choir is their dedication to international understanding and friendship, and their desire to help consolidate at a deep level, that sense of unity which is such an essential part of the Christian message.

One of the finest crafted, best blended, and innately musical ensembles with which I have had the pleasure to work.

Under the leadership of Elizabeth Patterson, Gloriæ Dei Cantores’ voices sounded like angels descending from heaven, delivering and rendering my music in such a way that seemed to shake the rafters and elevate the spirit. It was a magnificent sound borne of discipline and motivation, faithful love for craft and result. A glorious celebration — a joyous melding of mission and gift.
Grammy Award-winning violinist and composer
I have no hesitation in saying that Gloriæ Dei Cantores is one of the best choirs of its kind which I have heard in the United States—one which combines dedication, enthusiasm, hard work, and very considerable technical ability with the musicianship which turns a good choir into an excellent one. I am proud to be associated with it. Gloriæ Dei Cantores is a unique representation of American culture at its very best. The choir has a large repertoire and its high standards rival those of the great European choirs. They bring musicianship, enthusiasm and total commitment to all they undertake and, consequently, their many concerts have received the highest critical acclaim.

An extraordinary recording – the singing is superb, the sound outstanding, and it provides one with a truly spiritual as well as musical experience. I consider it a great privilege to have my music included on this beautiful record. In my estimation this musical product is the finest on the market today.
I was proud to be their representative here – the very best of America.

I have been amazed by the very high level of performances. One of the very best performances of the Messe Solennelle I have ever heard. The direction of Elizabeth Patterson is absolutely wonderful.

Truly important American choral music presented by this group unsurpassed in performing music of this kind. American composers are indeed fortunate to have these marvelous advocates.
They are superb in every way – ensemble, authenticity of style, conviction of interpretation, sheer beauty of sound, and above all, the spiritual glory flawlessly expressed for all to hear.
I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your recording. The choir is a terrific group both technically and musically.
