After an intense summer of rehearsals, Gloriæ Dei Cantores completed two days of recording sessions laying down works by Arvo Part and Eriks Esenvalds. The ensemble collaborated with members of the Boston Symphony for Arvo Part’s Stabat Mater and Eriks Esenvalds’ In Paradisum. It was particularly special to work on and record Stabat Mater because Arvo Part’s music and faith very much resonate with the mission of the choir, seeking truth and authenticity in the music, as well as the daily work to purify the soul as best we can so that our music will have a clear voice in this world. A recording of Arvo Part is set to release next year.
